Rotman school of Management

Hi everyone,

I’m an MBA student from Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto. Prior to my MBA I had worked for SAP Russia as a senior business development consultant. In that role I had an opportunity to learn various corporate applications and to participate in the sales process and in implementation projects both as a consultant and a project manager.

I’m very grateful to CEI for giving me this opportunity to work with Multilingual Community Interpreter Services, a leading Toronto interpretation services agency, as an organizational development and strategic planning intern. I believe that my professional experience and business knowledge acquired at Rotman can be useful for MCIS.

Recently MCIS has experienced a remarkable growth, signing some large new contracts. Last year’s intern performed great work assisting MCIS’ management team to create new vision, mission and objectives, streamline operations and implement a new call centre phone system.

Recently, MCIS has looked at additional ways to improve service operations and decided to focus on technological upgrades to support business processes and decision making.

After considering my background and experience, MCIS has hired me to analyze key business processes, identify areas of improvement, review management accounting procedures with a view to implementing a new information system that will help realize those improvements. MCIS hopes that this upgrade will increase labour productivity, allow better pricing decisions, improve service quality and provide a solid foundation for future strategic change. In addition, MCIS had a strategy session on Sunday, June 3, 2007, where its management team identified marketing, human resources and finance as immediate priority areas for development and growth.  I will be assisting the team through this process.

Sincerely,

Sergey Ruzaev
