I am originally from the Ottawa area and am happy to be back home for a little while. I am working as the program and event assistant for the Nunavut Youth Abroad Program, which emphasizes 'education through work and travel'. My mother was born in the North and I grew up with bits and pieces of the culture, so I'm happy to have an outlet for some of my knowledge now. I will be helping the program officers co-ordinate an Orientation for the youth in the program, doing tasks such as booking speakers, requesting donations, and helping supervise it. I will also be helping make funding proposals and helping with office work, such as faxing, mailing and the like.
