I would like to take this opportunity in introducing myself to you all. My name is Puneet Mannan and I am working with Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute (SICI) this summer. SICI is an interesting institute in the sense that it receives its funding from the Canadian Government Agencies, member institutes as well as from the India Government. SICI is primarily involved in promoting scholarly exchange (for applied academic and policy research in specific areas) between Canada and India, with a view to influencing policy development between Canada and India.

As is the case with almost all not for profit organizations, funding is going to become a challenge for SICI. Consequently, the goal of my internship is to develop conceptual strategies for long term funding, implementing new management and governance system and a host of related activities.

I believe that my past experience in working with a non-profit organization in India and my involvement with activities like business development, implementing diversification strategies etc will put me in a good stead in my internship.
