Hi, all,
It is my pleasure to be a member of CEI community. Moving from Toronto
to Vancouver, and moving from competitive and joyful MBA study life
to a nonprofit organziation environment is a big jump in my life
as well as my career path.
I was chosen to work for Coast Foundation Society,
one of the largest non-profit organizations in health care area
in British Columbia. Its mission is to promote recovery of people
who have mental illness. My project at Coast is to develop an employee
performance evaluation system, which provides a tool for monitoring
its employees' performance and the implementation of its strategic
plan and facilitates communications between management and its staff.
This project is also a part of Coast's 2005 organization strategic
plan. I design Balanced Score Card (BSC) for each position in this
organization that has 228 employees, and a manual that specifies
when and how to conduct performance evaluation and how the evaluation
results relate to remuneration, promotion, termination and position
shift. In doing this, I need to frequently communicate with all
level managers and staff in order to obtain details needed in the
BSC card, including visiting their sites where theywork with people
who have mental illness.
I have been enjoying my job since it started,
which is full of challenge and a lot of fun. Hope you all feel the
same way in your summer.
Cheers,
Morris
