Hi all,

I am Madhav Gottumukkala, I know that's a long name to be called , anyway friends call me Maddy. Firstly, I would like to thank CEI for giving me this opportunity to work for a NPO for the summer. So far its been a great experience out here. Secondly, I would also like to thank CEI for giving this opportunity to know fellow MBA's across Canada.

I have an undergraduate degree in computer science and engineering and at present i am doing my MBA at Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto ( 2007 batch). Prior to my MBA at Rotman I had worked for Indian Oil Corporation Limited ( Marketing Division) as a channel operations officer. In that role I was heading the operations department of one of the petroleum storage and distribution terminal and was also handling the customer relationship management at the terminal.

For the summer internship position, I working with a Environmental Defence, a non profit organization which is committed to protect the people, species and cities from environmental hazards, as a Web Marketing Coordinator for its toxic nation campaign. If you are wondering what the toxic nation campaign is then just google "Polluted children" and you will find all articles of its recent report release about the polluted Canadian families.

As a non profit organizations which is growing in its offering to the protect the environment and the people's health there is a high need to include online marketing as a part of its overall marketing strategy. In my role, I have been given the opportunity to design the online marketing strategy which would not only bring awareness among the people about the toxic chemicals in the household products they use but also build the recognition of the organization among the Canadians.

So far , in the role of web marketing coordinator I have been making improvements in the way the organization measures their online marketing and at the same time I am also doing market research to refine the potential target consumer who would support the cause of the organization. Challenging for far, I expect a lot to more challenges to come.

As a last note, I would like to say that it was great knowing each of you. And in future I expect to meet each of you personally. However, keep in touch. And do let me know if anyone who is not in Toronto is coming down for a quick weekend. It would be nice to meet you all.
