Interns in Action

SUMMER INTERNSHIP 2003

    Jeremy Rosenfeld
McGill University, BComm student

Hi everyone,

This summer I will be working for the Canadian Human Rights Foundation (CHRF). While the CHRF has many operations in different regions of the world, and operates many programs throughout the year, I will be working on just one. For the most part, my internship at the CHRF involves two main functions. First, I will help with the planning of the program, and second I will coordinate on-site once the program begins. That means I will be out at John Abbott College, on Montreal's West Island, with other interns on the CHRF's 24th annual International Human Rights Training Program (IHRTP). Every year, over 100 participants (approx. 140 this year) come to John Abbott College from over 60 countries from around the world. The participants bring with them diverse and multicultural backgrounds, yet they all share the common goal of furthering human rights. The program is specifically geared toward human rights workers in many fields of study, and concentrates on the educational process to train the workers.

I wish everyone good luck with their internships.
