Interns in Action SUMMER INTERNSHIP 2003             Jennifer Maks McGill University, MBA student Hi all! My name is Jennifer Maks and I am a McGill MBA student. This summer, I will be working with CEI and the McGill Management Career Centre. My main project is to identify and create a portfolio of organizations, both corporate and non-profit, from Montreal / Quebec / Ontario / rest of Canada, that have corporate social responsibility and/or environmental sustainability as a mandate or are moving in this direction. This portfolio will be used as a resource for speaker series, funds / donations, and potential internship placements. In creating this list, I will work with the Management Career Centre, the Alumni & Development Office, and other relevant McGill bodies, such as the McConnell Centre. Other initiatives I will be working on include: • Devise methods to connect current McGill students to firms in the 3rd sector (matching non-profit business consulting needs with projects that BComm & MBA students would do for academic credits) • Attend the CACEE conference on behalf of CEI to build and strengthen our ties with business school Career Centres across the country • Build a framework for a speaker series focusing on management careers in the 3rd sector • Participate in the re-evaluation and execution of CEI’s strategic objectives, more specifically with respect to the Web site I am really looking forward to diving into these projects and producing some tangible results by the summer's end.
