Hi all,
I participated in the CEI internship with the Elizabeth
Fry Society of Greater Vancouver in the summer of 2002 and found
it a very rewarding experience. With years of experience at the private
sector, I was able to learn the operation and management of a totally
different area - Non-for-profit organization. I would like to thank
Kariann and Eric for the great initiative which provides B-school
students the opportunities to contribute to the society while at the mean
time enriches our skills.
During the summer, I supported EFry of Great Vancouver in the following
projects:
Reported
to the Executive Director.
Conducted
best practice study of second stage housing projects nationally
through internet research and telephone interview
Conducted
funding research for the high-risk Housing project in federal, provincial
and municipal levels and seek preliminary evaluation of funding
possibility
Worked
with CMHC external housing research program to obtain support for
cost & benefit analysis of the Pathway Program and contracted third
party consultant for the study
Provided
statistical analysis of departmental performance
Organized
and prepared for the Accreditation kick-off meeting with over 80
participants
Best regards,
Helen
